Money dreams

I dreamt that I won the Heart and Stroke daily calender lottery last night! A man called me on the phone to tell me I won, but I already knew because I saw it on Twitter, but I pretended I didn’t know yet.

I also dreamt that I bought 1,500 acres of farmland in Holland that was in Grandma’s family because no one else could afford to buy it, or didn’t want it. I bought it for $1,500 but then we were flat broke with not a penny to spend until our next pay cheques.

I’m pretty sure I woke Jeff up at least twice to tell him about the farm I bought in Holland ;-)

Good morning, slept in, Jeff is missing, and the birds are coming

Awwww, the perfect Saturday morning.

It is after 10am and my hair is still standing straight up. I can only guess that Jeff woke up in the dark hours but I slept right through.

I was stumbling through a old mechanic’s shop carrying empty pop cans with my sister Julie trying to get to the ocean, and hoping Dad that was somewhere behind us talking to a guy of the last shop we snuck through would find our same short cut and catch up with us.

But by 9:45am I figured I should leave the ocean and wake up and shake off the dreams.

First thing I did was stumble outside and fill up the bird feeders.

We’ve been having bird parties every morning. Sometimes 30+ evening grosbeaks fly in! That bird species always seems to travel in packs.

Still no blue jay has showed up to tackle the new whole peanut feeder.

Last night when I got home from work there were two really large grouse in a tree behind the house. They were walking along the branches, eating something. Branch ends? Buds? There were on the hardwood trees. I tried to take photos of them, but it was getting dark and I couldn’t hold the camera still enough. Sometimes I think I should be keeping the tripod out of the box and ready to go.

Jeff can’t be found, but neither can his truck, so I’m assuming he went to town early to find a new tire for the ATV wagon. It is going up to +5 today so he’ll likely be itchin’ to get more gravel into the ruts in the driveway.

We also need to get another cord of wood in the basement to do it’s last drying before burning. Jeff is going to be in Ontario for a week later this month, so he wants to be extra sure I can survive on my own, and have plenty of wood to burn and keep warm.

OH! The first birds have arrived to the bird party. Let me take a photo for you.

Oh and here is the least out of focus photo of one of the grouse in the tree last night:

Jeff is back. He had no luck getting a new tube for the tire for the ATV wagon trailer, so he will have to order the one from Princess Auto for $5, although it will also have a $5 shipping charge. And he might as well order two since the other one has been repaired too.

I had to lie low… until the locals could smuggle me to Yemen

No one knows better than my husband how fascinating my dreams are. I think I dream a major motion picture every night. He just shakes his head when I tell him my adventures while I’m waking up.

A couple days ago I woke up and told Jeff about the umbrellas he sold – especially these large patio canopies he sold and installed. They were really remarkable.

Last weekend I woke up talking about Punjabi. I couldn’t stop saying the word Punjabi in my head during that dream. And I think Grandma Stock was involved.

Then, just last night, I was on a secret undercover mission in Afghanistan. My mission was successful, but I was in great danger. The locals had to hide me for a lengthy period of time before they were able to smuggle me to Yemen.

Why Yemen?

Beats me.

No more dreams!

No more dreams in the last couple of nights! YES!

Jeff came home last night and we exchanged our Christmas gifts. He spoiled me!! He gave me beautiful diamond earrings that I can wear on our wedding day! :D :D He also gave me two books – one I had been asking for and another book that looks really interesting – the story of Oak Island, NS – some sort of lost treasure or hidden gold story – I can’t wait to read them both.

One of the things I gave Jeff – well I guess he’s not getting it now because it was from eBay and some >:XX outbid me with 2 minutes to go and I lost it  I’m so sad. It was an old barometer in the middle of a small ships wheel and it had the SS Montrose on it. I had all the history of that boat printed and was so excited. There were no other bids or hits on the page.

I also got him one of those units with 60 little drawers on it for storing screws and nails and other doo dads. And I got him a Jeff Foxworthy daily Redneck calendar. And a Montreal Canadiens portable thermos mug (that he picked out). And some chocolates. AND in just 8 more air miles, I’m cashing in all the air miles that have been earned on my card in the last 5-6 years and he’s getting a little stainless steel fridge for his workshop downstairs!

Yesterday at work, they had a coffee break in my honour with a cake and cheese and crackers. A few people said they really hope I come back after we get married (..uhm, like where else am I going?)

Tonight is going to be a crazy night. We have 101 things to do before we leave tomorrow. Jeff wants to leave at 4am and drive all the way through without stopping so we miss the snow coming on Sunday. I do not want to load the truck and leave at 4am, so I guess we’ll see if I get left behind.

Another one!

I had another bad dream last night. Mom hadn’t made my hair appointment, no one was helping me, the wedding was hours and hours late. I was looking at the mop on my head and wondering if I could fix it with a curling iron. Someone had stepped on the edge of my dress and it had ripped loose a long section of beading and it was hanging and you could see big hard chunks of glue that used to hold it on. And to add a twist, I had a baby the day before, I think his name was Max, but I left him all over the place, and it wasn’t until Brian asked for one that I realized I hadn’t bought diapers for him and he was soaking wet – he was wearing cute overalls though. Jeff was no where to be seen. Amy and Sarah sang a song as I went up the isle (in some church) and after the ceremony everyone bolted and didn’t stick around.

Sheesh. I hope Jeff comes home from Halifax soon. I wish I had Friday off – it seems like I should be packing one of these days. I’m most afraid we’re going to forget something crucial out here in NS.

It’s snowing lots right now – mild again. If Buddy doesn’t clear out the driveway today I might have to stay down on road level. It’s supposed to keep snowing until Friday and tonight we have a wind warning for 90km/hr winds.

Hey, you wanna hear about a bad dog? I came upstairs from tending to the pellet stove last night. Monty was standing on my desk! Not just 2 paws, he was totally standing on my desk, tail near the computer, head near the other monitor. I knew he’d freak out and knock even more off if I yelled so I peacefully walked over and lifted him off. He is a total kleenex freak and I think he went up there just to eat a kleenex. Bad dog.

Oh no! Is this going to start now?

I had a dream last night that it was an hour and a half to go to my wedding. My mom had her hair done, but she hadn’t brought me to the hairdresser yet. I had nothing ready. So I got stressed and ripped all my nails off :D In the dream… they are still on my fingers in real life.

Did you hear what happened to my foot? We are trying to eat our way through our cupboards and freezer so we didn’t have to buy groceries until we get back. On Sunday night Jeff grabbed a big huge can of pork and beans out of the cupboard. I was standing at the stove and put my hand out. He thought that meant I was going to catch it. I thought he was going to pass it to me. It came flying through the air and I moved back – I thought, “oh no! The tile floor! The can will smash the floor!” so at the last second I put my foot in it’s path. It hit the top of my foot. It hurt so much I ran to the hallway and was face first on the floor crying crocodile tears. I now have this big goose-egg on the top of my foot and isn’t fitting into shoes too well.

But don’t you worry – in case it doesn’t go away, my wedding shoes are open on top so they’ll still fit ;)
