Thanks for the info.My husband 4 kids and I were seriously thinking of moving to Nova Scotia or N.B. you have made up our minds.I have been checking it out and things seem to be so much more, no wonder the economy is in the crapper and people fro there are leaving in boat loads. This is so sad people having to leave places they grew up and want ot raise their families because the government is to greedy.May be they should take a cut in pay LOL
We moved from BC 5 years ago to SK because BC was to expensive. At lest there is a bit of money there. Sk is excellent for the work now . We turn down a lot of work. But I miss the trees and water. Too home sick. Can’t go back to BC so I guess we will go to NB.

I will get the journal from Mom this weekend and start translating. I’ll do the section about Nova Scotia first but translating it all may be good for future generations too. Stay tuned….it could take me a while . Also will see if there are any pictures I can share with you as well!

Trudy I would love to read a translation!! Just in the last week I found your Dad’s funeral card and it had a quote from his Journal and I wondered what other stories and wisdom he recorded over the years. I keep revisiting the books and writings I have from Grandma’s translated letters, and from Grandpa V’s Mom, and from Hanny, and from Miep and Jan. I treasure them so much.
Will my blog be read decades from now? That would be funny.

Hey Lisa, just getting caught up on your blog entries. Interesting!!! Unlikely that you know, but my dad started a journal after he had his stoke and there are some detailed stories about jjis time in Nova Scotia when Grandpa Verkley was there too. The journal is in Dutch(mostly) but if you feel there might be some value and interest for you, we could translate it for you!
