Homelessness
Okay so I have an offer on the house. I’m going to take it. It isn’t as much as I wanted. But it is a cash deal, no conditions – they don’t even want a house inspection. Only we have to be out by April 2nd. 88|88|88| We don’t even know where we’re moving yet!!!
Jeff is fighting off the urge to nap right now as he waits in Halifax for his interview to start in 90 minutes from now. I love that we have figured out text messaging. On the other hand, I HATE text messaging. What a totally ineffective way of communicating. I can’t stand typing that slow. It is so aggravating!
I guess we can put everything in storage and live like gypsies for awhile. Maybe we’ll just mooch for a month or so, wandering from couch to couch. hehe
I just hope that Jeff gets to hear the end result of today’s interview within a week, and not a month!
Got an Offer
Got an offer on the house.
Details later tonight, Monty and I are off to his obedience and agility lessons.
Could We Be Out in 35 Days?
My agent called today and said she heard back from the agent who showed it yesterday. He said I was a very nice lady and that it was a good showing. He showed the couple 6+ houses yesterday and mine made the list of the ones they liked. He was calling around to see which of us could be out by April 2nd. They are waiting for the final papers on their other house to know for sure, but it looks like they’d need a place for April 2nd.
Whew…. I had to think quickly, but really had no choice but to say ‘yes’. By that time we should know for sure where we are going, but it will certainly speed up the rest of the process – meaning we’d almost definitely have to live somewhere temporary until we found a house to purchase.
So, nothing to get too excited about yet. I’ll just have to wait and see if we get an offer this week.
A Note About Realtors….
They don’t wear watches!!
I had a house showing for 2pm this afternoon….. and when did they knock on the door – 1:30pm!! ARGH! I made them go back outside of the gate so I could herd the dogs into their kennels in the garage, then I rushed back inside and put the cat in his cage and stashed the baby gate blocking the living room. Whew!
So, note to self, and to you, be ready at least an hour early (they were once an entire hour early).
I don’t know if these people are interested. They were a couple around 50 and looked like they had a much higher standard of living than this house – so maybe they are landlords. The realtor asked if I was the tenant or the owner. He was thinking I was a tenant and was going to tell me that he had other places he’d be happy to rent to me because I kept this one in such good shape. He said I made a good use of the space. They said I could stay, but I went out to the garage to get out of their way. When I left they were admiring Dad’s handywork of the tongue and groove pine in the bathroom. They were practically awe-struck!
Jeff left this morning and will be back later this week. He has a course in Lindsay and half way through he’s flying out for his interview in Halifax. Soon we’ll know where we are moving to! I’m getting really anxious, stressed out, and a tad bit bitchy so I’m sure we’re both equally eager to get moved and settled.
Just 7 more days of employment…. Maybe it’s time to play the lottery.
March Vacation!
Yee haaa I have a vacation to look forward to!
Jeff has a committee meeting in Ypsilanti, Michigan for a couple of days in March, and since I won’t be employed, I get to tag along!
Ypsilanti is in the Ann Arbor area which isn’t too far from Dundee so we get to go to Cabela’s again! Does anyone else have any recommendations for sites to see in that area? I think we’ll be staying in Ypsilanti for 3 nights.
I made a reservation for the canines to go to a resort for creatures of their kind.
The hotel is a fancy one with down comforters, a pool, whirlpool, and high speed internet so I should be able to entertain myself while Jeff is in meetings B)
February Long Weekend
Everyone deserves a long weekend in February so since I earned another 1.25 days of vacation with my 4 week extension, I took off Monday and so did Jeff!
Last night we went to the prime rib and snow crab leg buffet across the river because we couldn’t go out for dinner on Valentine’s day.
I was eating slowly and timing it all perfect so I didn’t walk out of there feeling like a overstuffed potato sack. It was all going well until the peanut butter pie – and then I was way way way too full. Actually I fell asleep within 30 minutes of getting back home so I guess the meal really did put me in a coma. I don’t even remember Jeff putting the dogs to bed.
I finished my taxes yesterday! Woo Hoo! Earliest I ever did them. It takes a good portion of an afternoon because I have to file the taxes for my business as well. It is a good exercise because I can look back over the year and see exactly what I earned on each task, from each company, and where I spent it. Based on those results, I made some goals for 2007 and plan on achieving them!
Today has been completely unproductive for me. Other than I finished my Valentine’s chocolates and finally watched the Golden Retriever grooming video that Jeff’s brother Brian got me for Christmas. It’s a really good video. Now I have to upgrade my grooming supplies so I can make Monty handsome for his next dog show – whenever that may be. I think I’ll be watching it many more times.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!
What a wonderful day it has been. I’m all grins and giggles. My handsome boyfriend has given me the most fantastic card, a dozen red roses, a heart-shaped box of Laura Secord chocolates, AND the DVD for “50 First Dates” (the first movie we went to see in the theatre years ago :>> ).
I’m just about to take Jeff’s Chocolate Kahlua cake out of the oven that I just made for him. He’s studying for another test for a different job competition so I thought it would make a nice study break.
Here are some pictures of me being spoiled rotten:
I am seriously the luckiest woman on earth to have such a wonderful man in my life. I love you Jeff!
And the snow goes on….
Here is the overhang today after work:
Yeah, I got the shovel and knocked it off. The door doesn’t want to close as tight anymore – who knows what that weight hanging over the edge did to the house
It’s hard to turn the key now…
Here is my beauty, fresh out of hibernation. It’s safely got me to work and the bank and the store while Jeff and his 4 wheel drive truck are out of town.
Snow Pictures
Wind does crazy things to snow. Here are some shots from the backyard after work today:
The plow still hasn’t gone down the street – for a couple of days now. Fine by me! We can pack it down
