A Call from the Wilderness!

Ahhh I’m so giddy, Jeff just called me from the woods. I guess they figured out if they drove half way to town they could get an analog cell signal to call their girlfriends. Ahhhhhhhhh, Sweeties. :p

No moose yet but some other guys got one. I think he said they saw 3 on the first day but that was it. (it was a really staticy call) I guess the weather has been lousy for hunting but they are still having a good time.

Crazy how a phone call can brighten a rather dull long weekend! Can’t wait until he comes home at the end of the week!

Alone Time

Jeff is leaving this morning for his 10 day moose hunting trip. He was busy last night washing all his hunting clothes in earth smelling laundry soap that is supposed to hide his scent so the moose don’t smell him. Isn’t that crazy sounding? Washing your clothes in dirt scented soap? It sure smelled crazy. Thankfully I talked him into waiting until tomorrow morning before they head into the wilderness to wash with his dirt smelling body soap and to apply his dirt flavoured deodorant. Do you think he has dirt flavoured toothpaste too?

Here is my list of things to accomplish while he’s out of town:

  1. I plan to finish off my new big website while he’s gone. It’s really close – I just have to automate some of the programming in the backend. Then I can start marketing it. Then I can start counting the hundreds of dollars it will bring in a day. :p I have another big site planned for after this one that I plan to get a chunk of done as well.
  2. Catch up on all my favorite TV shows that Jeff hates to watch. I might move a tv into my office so I can get lots of work done AND watch the tube at the same time.
  3. I have to get back into a regular gym habit. Ever since we got ready to put my house on the market, life has been chaotic, and I’ve been too lazy to go to the gym regularly.
  4. Wash my truck – We’ve been mostly just using Jeff’s truck lately – I’ve had the same tank of gas in my truck for about 4 weeks! It was in the driveway for too long, and it is the season where the birds eat all the mountain ash berries and poop them onto my truck so it’s disgusting. Jeff rearranged all the boxes in the garage so my truck can fit in there again though. :D
  5. Sell my house – That would really make my day. And hopefully that day is today.

There was a widespread frost in town last night. Still no furnace on at my house though! I’m tough!! (okay and I have a goose down duvet)

Update: OMG. I’m freaky with numbers. Look at the time I posted this at. That means I’m going to sell my house today.

Still Hope

Well I haven’t given up hope on this couple buying my house just yet. I talked to my real estate agent who said they were very interested and were going to the bank for financing. She said they were both pensioners living in an apartment so she didn’t know if they would be approved for a mortgage, except that their apartment costs $600 a month, and my mortgage and taxes is only $166 every two weeks. I hope that they’ll get approved!!!

Jeff found a new listing today that is DRASTICALLY less money than the other properties we’ve followed in Parry Sound. It’s a split level, three bedroom, two bathroom house. Roughly two acres. Looks like it needs all new windows so we’d probably have to update most of the inside as well. Not to mention building a garage and fencing in all 2 acres (I can dream). It is 20-30 minutes out of town so I’d have to get satellite internet. The monthly mortgage payment would be so much less than the other houses that we’re strongly considering this one – provided it isn’t too junky. We’ll have to see if my house sells first. And Jeff leaves this week for 10+ days of moose hunting.

My friend Jen from Thunder Bay stopped in last night on her way home for Thanksgiving. She had her 6 month old chocolate lab Samson with her. He and Monty played for HOURS. Unfortunately none of my photos turned out. It’s hard to focus a camera that is an automatic in the dark while drinking beers on a porch chatting with an old friend apparently. It was really great to chat it up. I hope I can make some good friends in our new town.

Reuniting with Chocolate

Now that I know I’m not allergic to chocolate, I’m having a good time reuniting myself with everything I was deathly afraid to eat over the last 1.5+ years.

This morning I’m having my first Tim Horton’s hot chocolate in sooooooo long. Yum it’s good. Lots of sugar in this cup.

I’ve never been crazy for chocolate. I mean it’s good, but I don’t go crazy for it, never really crave it, and would always pick chips over chocolate for a naughty snack. However, this has been fun. Over the last few weeks I’ve tasted chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, a Kit Kat chocolate bar, and now hot chocolate. Next will be chocolate milk one of these days.

:D

So I didn’t hear anything back last night about the people who were so interested in my house yesterday. I really hope I’ll be hearing that I have an offer today. I’m trying to stay REALLY optimistic.

Keep Dem Fingas Crossed, Ya Hear?

Open House is over. Jeff and I and the two dogs and cat spent half of it parked down the street on a little stake-out ;D

Six groups of people went through. One couple is quite interested but he is all concerned that the service here is only 60 amps because that is what the breakers say, but I have a house inspection that says it’s 100. They are going to mull it over and call the realtor tonight.

Another person was looking for her friend and was reasonably interested.

So keep those fingers crossed!

I’m having melt-downs every 2 hours. I am sick to death of cleaning this house and living in my bedroom so we don’t scratch the new laminate flooring… which is really scratched all to hell now – someone obviously left their shoes on.
