Mantracker starts tonight on OLN

Mantracker

The Mantracker show starts tonight on OLN. You may remember my blog post about it – here, refresh your memory. The Mantracker himself, one of the guys who is tracked on the show, and another fan have already left comments on that thread!

From the OLN page, it looks like they are airing two episodes tonight:

Mantracker – Episode One “Jeff and Magnus”
Premieres Wed., April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Jeff Bremner, 47, is an oil prospector from Medicine Hat, Alberta; and Magnus Mulliner, 34, is a fitness and wellness consultant from Calgary. These two may both be from Alberta – but this is where the similarities end. If they are going to outwit Mantracker in Alberta’s ranch country, they will have to find some common ground. The terrain is rough, putting Mantracker and his horses at a serious disadvantage in this chase. Will Mantracker and local guide TJ capture these two tenacious prey despite the terrain? Or will Bremner and Mulliner overcome their differences and outrace Mantracker?

Mantracker – Episode Two “Liisa and Nicolina”
Premieres Wed., April 12 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT
Liisa McMillan, a freelance writer and Nicolina Lanni, a journalism student, are two young women with steely resolve – and they want to make this the toughest challenge Mantracker has ever faced. To make sure of that, they push themselves to their physical and psycholical limits – facing paralyzing phobias – and drag Mantracker through a maze of thick bush and swamp. Mantracker’s horse is in danger and he’s not happy about it. Nobody’s safe in this adrenaline-packed game of hide-and-seek.

Cold: Day 11

Yes it is Day 11 of this cold that lingers on and on. Today I was a bit better. I did too much outdoor work on Saturday in the wind and it really bothered my ears for the rest of the weekend.

I found a bike in my back yard yesterday morning. Well more of a scooter – the kind with no seat – the kid stands on one leg. Looks expensive and new. It was in the back corner by the fence so the jackasses behind me probably tossed it over. I found a cut padlock too. I put it in my garage and today after work J. offered to go talk to the neighbours (because I’m a non-confrontational chicken, and he’s a big strong man). I figured they probably stole it or why would it be in my yard so we agreed I should call the cops. They had me drop it off at the station tonight. So it’s out of my hands. (Of course J. drove me to the station too because I’m scared of the world.)

I just realized I haven’t had dinner yet, so I’ll report back later, gotta eat.

K Back, dinner is cooking. Monty will be 6 months on in 4 days. Today he weighed 49 pounds!!!

Highlights of the past weekend:
-moved my 10×20 foot kennel run to the old garden. I love having my yard back! I still need to level it a bit and figure out how to rig the bottom edges so Monty can’t dig out.
-I rebuilt my flower garden along the edge of the kennel and edged with rocks.
-J. made the most delicous ribs – he put a peppery rub on them the day before and then smoked them. They were soooo goood
-My lucky Lotto 649 ticket was a dud.
-We had a good retriever practice session with the retriever club. Monty’s got a lot to work on, but he isn’t doing too bad at all.

The Cold that Lingers

Well it’s been over a week and this damn cold is hanging on. J. had his cold first and it’s not completely gone either. My ears are still stuffed, and my throat is sore and clogged up.

Anyway, it was a busy week. I missed Monday to stay in bed and try to recoup, then I worked the rest of the week, during the day for my job, and at night for a client. I am definitely lacking in sleep, but I’m impressed with how it turned out. Check my business page for the link.

My client in Georgia has resurfaced and will be hiring me for some on-going development and maintenance work. She’s a hoot and actually pays so I’ll take it. Working for her paid for my truck a few years back.

My business is always in this constant flux between me throwing my arms up in the air and refusing any more clients, to taking on more because I’m money hungry and I want to work full time for myself so badly. I don’t know what or where the happy medium is. I’m really good at what I do, but my time is so much more valuable to me that it ever has been before. I want to spend my free time with my puppy and with J. while enjoying life, and not wasting it if it isn’t a financial benefit to myself. If a client wants me to work for them, they are going to have to start paying a premium price. No more freebies, they drain me too much. If you screw me over, insult me, waste my time, or just demand too much of me, you’re out. Designers are a dime a dozen, I’m sure someone else will be happy to take you on as a client. I’ve let so many clients go over the last 4 years, but every time it was the right decision.

This job I worked on the last 2-3 weeks worked out really well. It was a couple of old friends of mine who are professional and had a good sense of what they wanted. I was impressed with how well it turned out, and how quickly it was done, although there was a couple of curveballs as it went live with the secure certificate not working in all browsers, but it looks like I fixed it this morning before I came to work, so we’re good to go!

So enough of business talk…

This weekend will probably be spent starting my yard work and cleaning my house. I need to move Monty’s kennel run to the area where the last owner has a vegetable garden. Right now it’s on the prime area of my lawn and he’s starting to dig. I know how fast a good patch of grass can go bad with dog holes, so it has to move, even if he’ll be so muddy back there I’ll have to hose him down often. I imagine I’ll put something down eventually to cover half the grass/dirt so he isn’t lying in the dirt all the time. Wood chips would be perfect but I know he’ll spend his day eating them! He has yet to spend a day outside, but it’s getting warmer and he must be bored out of his mind staying in his xpen in the kitchen all day while I’m at work.
