Here is a picture of me in the canoe last weekend. This was taken with an Olympus Stylus 400 I do believe. The skinny little seat sure makes a difference – might not fit my entire backside, but sure is nice to lean back.

What a glorious long weekend.

I was out in the north country today, the peaceful back roads of northern Ontario. Good long drive, canoe, fishing, campfire lunch, sunburn, and blackflies. Ahhhhhh.

Saw a deer, two moose, groundhog, many squirrels, chipmunks, a couple herons, and no, didn’t catch any fish.

Gotta nap now. More photos later….
The sun is rising! Time to shake a leg! I’m heading out for a day of canoeing and fishing. Hopefully I will have some stunning photos for you later.
I suspect I’ll be too chicken to bring my camera in the canoe though… I don’t want it to get wet!
Got the grass cut yesterday – first cut of the season. I really need to get my mower tuned up. I forgot how well tennis balls hide in tall grass – I hit two of them within 5 feet from each other. Totally shuts off the lawnmower!
I tell ya, there isn’t much Winger enjoys more than rolling on his back in the freshly cut grass!

Was it ever cold this morning! All my tulips were totally slouched over from the frost. I should have taken a photo of them, but they looked too sad! (YES, that is right!, the tulip vandal hasn’t returned! and he/she better not!) It was -3 when I went to work. It sure was hard to leave my warm bed. I really wanted to turn on the furnace, but it’s MAY! Sure was a beautiful sunshiney day though!

I took another photo of a bird on the birdfeeder. I really like how this one turned out.
I REALLY don’t remember inviting this guest to my back yard! No wonder my birdseed goes so fast!

Good thing I got some tulips photographs when I did, because for the 2nd year in a row, some *@!(# pulled many of them out of my garden. Last year almost every one was removed. This time only about a quarter of them, but I don’t have really big hopes of the rest surviving the week. I’m sure the vandals will be back. It breaks my heart.
I have visions of booby-trapping every single remaining stem with a razor blade, but apparently that isn’t so legal either.
I sure wasn’t pleased to read a negative review! PC Mag gives the Kodak Easyshare Z740 only 2 stars out of 5. Well well well, can’t please everyone! I still love this camera and use it several times a week. It’s so easy to use and I think the picture quality is magnificent!

Beautiful day out. My tulips in the front are open and so so beautiful!!
The birds are having a FEAST at my feeders. They can finish off a feeder full of niger seed in 48 hours! I have an entire flock visiting right now – I think they are some sort of warbler – yellow rumped maybe? There are easily 20 of them out there at a time.
Be sure to click on the photos to see the larger image. This Kodak Easyshare Z740 zooms in so well! Of course the birds were having such a feast I walked up closer too and they didn’t flinch!
