Hurricane season is about to begin!

There are a couple disturbances popping up off the west coast of Africa. That seems to be where the “good” hurricanes start to stir.

Here is the view at the current disturbances this morning – disturbances that still just are at 20% and 30% chance of forming tropical cyclones, but the season is starting!!

Will we get hit this summer? I hear the Atlantic Ocean is warm this year!

By the way, the names for this year’s Atlantic storms are:

Arlene
Bret
Cindy
Don
Emily
Franklin
Gert
Harvey
Irene
Jose
Katia
Lee
Maria
Nate
Ophelia
Philippe
Rina
Sean
Tammy
Vince
Whitney

Emily has already formed and dissipated, so ‘Franklin’ is next!

UPDATE:
Here is a nice analysis of the upcoming storms – Tropical Concerns for Leewards, Bermuda, Canada. If they develop and head for Canada, we’re looking at impact on August 18/19 for the first one, and August 22 for the second.
